Ron
Downey was born on
January
24, 1950 in Santa Paula,
California. He spent his early education in
the Marysville school system, graduating from
Marysville High
School
in 1968. Ron attended
Yuba College before leaving in 1970 for the Sunset
School of Preaching (now known as Sunset
International Bible Institute). He graduated
in 1972 and returned to do mission work in 1976.
Ron has preached in numerous congregations in
California, including Red Bluff, Marysville,
Livermore, Fairfield, Martinez, and Yuba City.
Ron worked during mission terms in both Melbourne
and Sydney, Australia. Additionally, Ron was
the editor for the "Sancho Panza" newsletter
supporting the Mexico City mission team. He
also directed the Adventures in Mission (AIM)
program in Regina, Saskatchewan. Ron has been
busy providing conflict resolution services to
congregations in 16 states. |
Ron
married Shirley Ann Brown on February 5, 1972.
They have four children: John, Rebecca, Jenna, and Nick.
Adding to the family tree are six grandchildren:
Ethan, Jayson, Nikko, Mikayla, Mallory, and Troy.
Shirley is the Education Director for the Peach Tree
Lane congregation and is a teacher at Noah's Ark
Pre-School that meets in the Gray Avenue church
building, just off Queens in Yuba City. |
