For the public section of the website, I don’t see information that I look for when visiting a church’s webiste, specifically, what to expect when visiting, names of specific contacts especially elders, and a statement of faith that includes plan for salvation and specific worship practices such as communion, male leadership and a capella singing. I’d like to see that added, if we could.

As a follow up to this post; I’ve heard it mentioned that Chico CofC raised over $2,000 on their Japan fundraiser on a Sunday. Its great to see good works in action.

Hi Norm,

I’ve been thinking about that for a while now, and yes it is possible. My concerns are that not everyone has the skills to be let loose on the site, without parameters. So I had to find a middle ground. The way that I envisioned this is that we can create ‘headings’ under the news tab. Once the heading has been created members can add to the heading by selecting reply, which means that all discussions related to that heading will appear under the heading. This is effectively what is happening in the Sandbox. The ‘Sandbox’ is the heading and all of this discussion falls under the Sandbox heading. In this way members can effectively publish, and dialogue safely, by leaving replies. If you want me to open a heading, just let me know. Send me the heading title, and a paragraph or two to introduce the topic, so that others will understand the purpose of the discussion. Then add to it as you want.

This is a very nice site, Guy. I enjoy the navigation and interaction. One question though, will members ever be able to create posts? Maybe in a separate location than the elders? Just wondering as it will help interaction between members if we can post out own news and prayer requests up on the site.

I find this website confusing. im sorry but I have been in and out of it and do not have any idia what I am doing. I may need a class to understand how it all works.I know you are putting so much work in it but it needs to be simple for me. . thanks for your hard work
